1995 fiesta stalling problems

Hello, my name is Ben, I am fairly new here,
I have a mk3 fiesta 1.1 and when i initially start my car, i get a few yards down the road and it starts to cut out and eventually stall. This tends to happen when it's really cold or just wet outside.
So I was wandering, is it just flooding the engine or is there something else going on?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
