depends what you use your car for and stuff. turbo would sound better, be more tuneable etc... it would also be less reliable and use more fuel. mondy engine would be nice and reliable, and would return about same mpg as your si engine. if i were you (i have to use my car for going to work, going on holiday, everything really) i would get the mondy engine. in fact i almost did, until the guy i was buying the engine off tried to screw me over.

You might be in a situation if u do a 2.0 L conversion after 6 months you get bored and think damm i could have put a Turbo Lump in
you can esily get 200 BHP out the cvh lump and it Can be a daily drive and be realiable depends on the rebuild or how u service it and look after it...
You need to think about
insurance:
Ure Budget for the engine conversion:
What kind of power you want @ the end of the day:
Costs of both conversions:
Running costs:
I would go for a cvh turbo = Rs turbo engine....
2.0 is fine but turbo You know you always wanted one...

yeh you can put a rst engine in an Si, but step back to older technology? you'll have to re-wire the loom or pay someone to do it if you dont know how to. nuff work there is also other considerations to think about, exhausts and stuff.
i say go for the 2L zetec if you get bored, turbo the 2L.

1.6 16v Zetec to 2.0 16v Zetec = Cheap.
You will need this labour (also tells you what parts you need..)

to put a normally aspirated 2L in, £700max all in, thats supplying the engine and fitting it. i think you'll get get it fitted for £400 easy.
to turbo it...the cost varies on what you want. if you want an easy 220-250 brake a budget of a £1k would see your engine blown. but the skys the limit. 350bhp isnt silly really. charisma daves is around that figure, but then you're talking £1000's

no mate, cuz your engine is already a zetec the 2l engine its a nice straight foward conversion cuz alot of the parts you already have you can use. Id just go for the 2l cuz insurance will be cheaper (should be), theres barely any difference in bhp between the 2, you can source a much lower mileage engine if its a zetec and zetec engines are nice and solid and hard wearing. Oh and of course converting back to a cvh will be a c**t (if its anything like converting a cvh to a zetec) cuz more labour = more costs, trust me i know

As above, s 2.0 is better everyday car, should be more reliable and alot better mpg.
Also a 2.0 conversion and an RS turbo are about the same power when standard, but to get more out of the RS turbo would be easier.
Not many parts are needed for the 2.0 conversion as they are both 16v zetecs so most of the parts are already in your car and in basic terms its take the 1.6 out take some bits off attach to the 2.0 and put the 2.0 back in.
The best way of doing an RS Turbo conversion would be to but a whole RS turbo and strip it which then leads to why bother?
I would say 2.0 as its an Si.

i think thats my project in the summer a 2.0 conversion. If i save around £800 that should cover the cost of a decent engine and extra parts if needed. The only think im worried about is the insurance

Max M4X WW :Ring up and find out, Only a group higher i think. Mondy 2.0's are slow
Horse power to weight plays a big part, true 2.0 mondys are slow (they always try racing me )
Next thing I am doing on mine is a full remap and setup, cos even with a 2.0 ECU its still running like a family car with nice mpg etc, a full setup and remap should really kick it up

If I had an Si I'd put the 2.0L in, much cheaper and you don't have to change loom etc
If I had mk3 fiesta without PATS then I'd put an Rs Turbo engine in...
Think about how much money you have, insurance, reliability etc
