Can anyone tell me what is involved in putting A 2.0 l Zetec lump into a Mk3.5 Zetec Si. Because I have spoke to a couple of people and no one seems to know what there on about I speak to one person and they recon it will just drop in cause it is besicaly the same engine and other people recon that you have to rewire the car and all sorts of stuff.
:bonkers: :bonkers: :bonkers: :bonkers:
Please some one tell me cause it is driving me mad and a mate of mine has got an engine in his garage out of a Mondeo Si and he wants to get rid of it.

Brilliant site. Did u use the zetec gearbox in your iesta originally as I wish to do a similar conversion with an xr2i. Will i need the zetec box, and what is the situation with the drive shafts etc?

I amy be going mad but ojn your site it said that you fitted the type and and type r to your fiesta. Which is the better engine of the two in terms of fitting, and is there a noticeable differeence in performance.

type e is the easiest to fit.

The E had more midrange and went slightly better, the R was very very smooth but did tend to rev more freely (and past 7k)

Cheers for that. The type e is from a mondeo i guess. I remeber yuo mentioning on your site something about the actual inlet manifold not fitting so yuo used your existing si one or something like that. So can i get away with the mondeo manifold?

Cheers for your advice

no mate sorry the mondeo manifold is just too large.

would have been nice to get it in for the low down torque - but the fiesta manifold gives it a bit more top end poke.

Bugger. So I need the the fiesta xr2i 1.8 16v manifold and bore out the adapter plate holes a little. Cheers for all this information. 1 last question though is the whole conversion worth it in terms of fun and enjoyment or could i get the same from a FRST engine. I just cant decide.
