I had a set of these a while ago: GSXR 43mm

Image

They came with what can best be described as rubber 'boots' that originally joined them to the cylinder head on the bike. They make fitting a doddle, fabricate a manifold using a Zetec head flange and pieces of tube welded on to connect to the 'boots'- easy!

Hi,

Mine were from a GSXR1000. They are 42mm TBs.

I believe that the GSXR600 TBs are 38mm.

You should be able to get a decent set for around £80.

What kind of power difference do they offer? also, do they use a hell of a lot more petrol?

ant pittaway - looking really nice, im guessing the header you have got is from the states? will it be custom piping to attach it to the rest of the exhaust system ?

Asad - once again cheers for your help and information

Im using 330cc injectors so yeah it does drink a load of petrol. Im geting around 40miles to £10. But that is with giving it a bit of a caning! I havent got the art of economical driving sussed yet!

I'd imagine it would be more petrol friendly with standard ST170 injectors, something which I may put back on.

As for the header, there is a UK seller on Ebay - search for "obx focus" on ebay and you should find it. Seller's ID is nautica35.

Yes you do. Fuel pressure will be controlled by a fuel pressure regulator, which requires a fuel supply and a fuel return back to the fuel tank. Throttle bodies require a regulated high pressure fuel supply to the injectors, unlike carbs.

Thanks heeman10

Thought there might be a chance because there is only a supply connection on the throttle bodies i got off a bike.

Hit another set back today with a trial fitting, the alternator i got from Retro Ford is hitting the tbs and manifold i got made from Bogg Brothers. :x

What to do now?????

I have seen exhaust manifolds similar to that in ebay america, for their focus 2.0. dont know if it's engine is a black top or a different zetec.

do anybody know if these american manifolds will fit european silvertops? and going deeper, anyone knows which are the diferrences between euro and american zetecs? can i buy arp cam/head/con rod bolts from usa? and vernier pulleys?
