The gear shift? If so then yeh, initial thoughts are its certainly much better than before. I've not yet had the opportunity to try it out on track though.

Re: 2.0 ltr XR2i Trackcar - Jan 12
Bit of an update.
ACF-50 and a new wire brush from eBay arrived so I gave the front coilovers a spruce up....
Before
During
After
One of the multi plugs for the thermostat housing broke during the gearbox removal so I robbed half of a surplus loom from my brother so that got replaced, soldered and heat shrunk.
Drive shafts fitted.
Coilovers back in.
Discs and callipers back on.
Wiring & loom zip tied up again.
Induction back on,
The gearbox oil arrived so.....
Gearbox filled.
Linkage adjusted.
Lower strut brace back on.
Bumper back on and......
Wheels back on and lowered on to garage floor.
Tightened the drive shaft hub nuts.
Tightened the wheel nuts.
Took it for spin up and down road and check all gears engaged ok, which they did.
Reversed it into garage, jacked up, on axle stands and ready to strip the rear coilovers down.......
Pretty rusty, surface rust only thankfully.
Although the adjuster knob is very tight so soaked with WD40 overnight.
I only had a hand held wire brush so I got this far and sacked it until i got a wire brush fitting for my drill.
Wire brush purchased, cleaned, lubed with ACF-50, reassembled and fitted back on the car.
And that's it for now.....

Do you still have that OMP steering wheel? If you might sell it?
About that plate for the gear linkage can you measure how thick it is. Just guessing something like 20-25mm.

No. I don't sorry.
Next time I'm under the car I'll measure it.
