2.0 Si
i have been offered a 1.6 16v Si for £1000. its been lowered got 15" alloys and loads of other bits but the engine is knackered. how easy would it be to put a 2.0 mondeo zetec-e engine in there. would i need to change any of the wiring loom, can i use the exsisting ECU. what about the gearbox and the clutch? is it just as simple as taking the old engine out and slotting in the new one?
also has this already been done and if so who did it
cheers lads

i few bits will need to be taken off a 1.6 or a 1.8 zetec from a fiesta or escort, change the ECU for a 2.0 one. A few people on here have done the same conversion, do a search or as Project its on his site

basically u are using the 2.0 block... transfer accross everything else.. including:-
manifolds,
pullies,
oil pump,
water pump
etc etc..
use the 2.0 maf, and throttle body.
The sump needs swapping too to cater for the fiesta exhaust cut out on there... er.. if u do use the mondy oil pump u gonna have to use a SHORT cvh oil filter like me ...
use the 2.0 injectors on the fiesta fuel rail tho...
oh make sure all injectors are plugged in
use the 2.0 ECU and to be picky use the 2.0 lambda sensor even tho i rekon they are all the same as ive used 3! lol and all gave the same results
best to upgrade the brakes too, mondeo ones are a good idea, someones just fitted these and he says they are cool
just space the disk out 3mm or machine down the hub by 3mm.. might have to drill teh hub as the mondeo caliper bolt is abit thicker too
cant think of anything else at the mo

just a quick note about transmition...
i am using the 1600 gear box...
its great for acceleration! but not too hot on the top end... 120ish ...
still going strong, had it for a year now...
recomend an uprated rs1800 one, will get a better top end
