2.0 zetec into a 1.8 16v xr2i
thinkin about doin the swap as ive been offered a 2.0l zetec motor with 33,000 genuine miles on it but wanna no how much hard work it is.I.E is it a plug and play or do i need to change things.help appreciated

you will need to change the engine loom for 1 with internal edis as the xr2i 16v runs external edis and the mondeo ecu uses internal but other than that its just a case of swapping sump , oil pickup , water pump , buying a cvh oil filter as the mondeo one fouls the chassis lag on the fiesta ,and swapping the alternator and strarter off the fiesta onto the mondeo lump

I'm guessing it's a box mounted on a plate at the back of the engine? where as internal is sort of combined in the loom somewhere. No idea but that's my guess.clarky82 :i no this sounds dumb but what is external edis???

you will need a 1.6si fiesta engine loom 2.0 ecu and maf (deep/dewy/desk ecus work)
visit http://www.fiesta-si.com ,there is about 10 pages in the faq section on 2.0l conversions ,which will tell you everything you need and afaik there is a guide on how to do it

just to let you all no i am getting the engine,loom,ecu and throttle body.
will i be able to use the 2.0 throttle body on my inlet and will the ecu plug into my existing harness???
and ive got round the problem of the sump as im using the mondeo manifold or possibly buying a custom/4 branch
all help appreciated
