2.0 zvh question

Postby BlueFiesta85 on Mon Mar 20, 2006 11:56 am

Right, is it worth boring a 2.0 litre zvh out to 2.1 or is it better of to skim the standard 2.0 pistons down by -0.5m, what are the pros and cons to having it bored out to 2.1?

If your willing to spend the money then get it bored and fit better pistons. the standard cast jobbies will hold but not as long as c20LET ones. i wouldnt advise skimming the standard pistons, if you decide on using them, take .5 off them but leave a 10mm band around the edge to stop detting. and as for the pros, more torque and faster turbo spool up. cons-cost

thats the short explanation mate

It all depends on your budget and what the bores are like

If the bores are worn then you will have to get it bored out to 2045cc i'e 2.1.

If you want to skim the pistons of the 2.0 then do it by 40thou to give 8.2:1 with a focus steel head gasket fins 1105772.
Now driving a 1999 Audi S3 with 2.1 20v OD HTAGT3582r Turbo
