it has been rumoured that they take around the 300-350hp mark...its hard to say if they will last much longer...however, they are forged and low compression enough for big power...its also down to the mapping and the rods...standard rods wont see much over 300hp or 6500rpm for long periods of time...neither will be valve train!

Thats hell of a lot of power to put down you know,

I like the sounds of this guys plans
sound like mine
you sure these plans won't end up costing like 5 k
if so why not contact a specialist company
save spending on replacement parts and will know all the answers and who to contact for gear boxes clutched drive shafts

i hate to say it but any front wheel drive car will struggel with over 250 hp unless you fit a LSD and have next to slick tyres even then could just waste the power why not consider fitting a cossy rear axel and run a driveshaft from the gear box through a rally LSD box then you could put down 400 bhp and not waste 150 bhp on wheel smoke

I know it's not a conventional idea but heeneman did with his supercharged 1.8 and his cars a beast
2.1 Went BANGGGGG now a Ghia 1800

The pistons (assuming they're Mahle) have been proven to 500bhp.. Using standard rods over 270bhp is at your own risk :)
