Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
What you could do is have them built facing the back of seat and just hav the seat down then just push it up when have passengers or for obscuring them.

build a small frame in the boot and make them sit at the top where the parcel shalf would normally be and carpet the top, job done

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
in the bin!!
And you do NOT want to face the subs firing to the back seats!!
Trust me, its not worth the little gain that you will get...and it might not even be a gain...you will lose out on bottom end depth, and it will be punchy as hell...we done it YEARS ago with Sunnys fiesta...would have sounded MILES better with a bigger box! Back then we were nonethe wiser...now we EASILY outperform him 15's with 2 12's in a proper box
its all in the box...thats why ive always been as loud as I am...[ERRR] i know how to design and build a PROPER sub box

so its either have a big box in the boot which takes up all the room and makes the subs come to the edge of the boot or take the back seats out and put them there? hmmm what would you do bassboy?

also depends if you want to draw attention to the fact you have a car full of gear someone will potentionally want to take from you!! i had 2 12" subs in my old 3.5 altho i cracked all the soundproofing on my boot floor there was still a fair bit of space but as bassboy says the box wasnt the best was a small home item with ports but with the right amps sounded good still!

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
if my sub was all set up proply etc rather than me doin it it should be putting out around the 135db mark but its only doing 127 =[ instead of getting another 15 im thinking of just gettin a custom box for the 1 now but how much would i be looking at payin for a custom box that would pump it out to get the most decibels out of it?

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
this might be heartbreaking but you will be struggling for space in a mk3 fiesta to fit a 15 ported...you will need around 4cuft after displacements which is HUGE!
127 is rather poor to be honest if you think its currently loud...my single 12 is 15.5db louder than yours currently
what amp do you have?
Where are you based? You might want to have a listen to some systems varying in degrees of bass so you know what level you want to be at...[ERRR] at the moment, my mids are louder than your sub and I can FULLY understand why you want more...
First start will be to put your sub in a better box...but you will still be fighting for box space...this will DRAMATICALLY increase volume and smooth out the way its currently playing...
Next step will be sort the charging system out so your able to sustain good voltages for a good period of time - you cant make power without power!
Also make sure your midrange and front end are capable of keeping up with the bass...this makes ALOT of difference!! Having a complete system rather than half a system will always sound more pleasing!
I start my boxes from £150...might sound alot but when you consider im over 50% cheaper than most places, its a bargain...and my experience speaks for itself...the box is the KEY point of any install...well...that and a decent power supply! without those, you wont be playing loud for long!

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
Im running a L7 12 inch kicker with hyphonics mono amp. That Has enough punch and air displacment to pop the rear window from the tail gate f my mk4 escort when faceing the screen. I had to strap the rear screen down to keep it in. Its now in my mk2 fez boot in the well and Its way to load to have on full, unless the boot is open

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
bas saph...I can safely say, that if your screen was trying to pop out with a SINGLE L7 kicker sub, then your screen werent in right! L7's arent the best speaker to move air...just check the xmax figures...they get loud yes...but their design is flawed in the sense they cant move up and down alot (xmax)
Chris...if you want a 140...ill get you a 140...

wouldnt bother with the 6x9s mate...sell them on or return them and put that money towards components in the front

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
more hassle than its work putting 6x9s in the doors...sell em...make a few bucks, and put them towards a good set of components...
get a nice amp on the components if you havent got one
Try selling the Fli amp and go for something else
Sub wise, like I said its gonna be hard getting that 15 in a proper box in your boot...consider changing down to a decent 12
Invest in sound deadening
Get a bigger battery in the front and possibly one in the boot depending on how much power you are going to run
let me know what your happy with doing from the above

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
I reckon your going to need atleast 1k...however, one thing that NEEDS to be taken into consideration, is what sort of frequency do you want it to do 140db??
Balls out SPL cars, tune high...like in the 50-60hz even 70hz regions!! However, it means bass notes around 5-10hz below the box tuning, will suffer and the sub will just bottom out killing itself!
Getting a sub to get the 140's at low frequencies like mine, means power, efficiency and a good box design! My results for my 12 were
20hz - 133.8db
25hz - 138.8db
26hz - 138.9db
27hz - 140.9db
28hz - 141.7db
29hz - 142.0db
30hz - 142.5db
31hz - 141.1db
33hz - 141.0db
40hz - 140.1db
These were dont with an Ascendant Audio Havoc 12"...comes in at £270...there is an Ascendant Chaos which is 800wrms and should just break the 140 figure for £220
Then you have to think about the price of the amp on top...
I really need to measure up your boot to see what will work best

Re: 2 15"s in the boot?
The fli amp will only give 500wrms at best! Realistic figure will be around 350-400wrms...you can already start to see why cheap equipment wont work for what you want...
I know your boot is the same as any mk3, but I dont have access to any mk3's for me to look at lol...they are kinda hard to find these days lol
