just wondered whats the difference between the 168bhp engine and the 200bhp engine (i saw them on carstats.co.uk)
was one in a earlier model of the mondeo or ... :-?

also, has anyone ever attempted to fit one into a fiesta?
would it fit into a fiesta?

cheers

Which mark of mondeo?

I think you may be talking about the ST24 engine, or maybe the newer duratec engines :-?

the st24 is also a duratec, the st 200 is basically the same block with some different componants, bigger throttle body etc

does that mean the st200 isn't very tuneable?

neither the st24 (which i have) nor the st200 are easy to get extra power from, thats why ppl will often stick NOS in as it the practically the only way

having said that theyre not the slowest cars on the road as standard, mine can hit 60 in 7.2 consistanly

Both are duratecs. The st24 or any mondeo v6 has the 168bhp version. The st200 has the 200bhp version, it has quite a few different components, mainly cams, ecu, upper and lower intake stakes and i think it has a higher compression aswell but im not sure. Check out Scorts project as he is using one, but its going to be a twin turbo :Q

And yes someone has put one in a fiesta, ones is a mk2 and there is a mk3 somewhere aswell

the yanks swap all the parts from a st220 if i remember rightly..

manifold, cams, tb, ecu, maybe pistons i dunno..

same as we swap about the 105-130 1.8 bits and bobs i suppose but on a big yank v type scale.
