2 litre conversion question

Postby PUREtom on Tue Apr 05, 2005 6:26 pm

Just been to see a mechanic to get a quote for the 2 litre conversion. Somewhere in the region of £300, not incl engine.

But on the guide there is nothing mentioned about fuel lines and fuel pressure etc, so do I use the Si 1.6 parts for this?

Cheers

If the car is already a Zetec or CVH (ie. Multipoint injected) there shouldnt be any changes neded.

Not 100% sure, but I think CFi uses the same pump as carb'd engines.

The pump is in the tank for all EFi engines and some carb'd have electric ones too. Some are mechnical pumps still.

Compared to a 1.0/1.1 and possibly 1.3 the fuel lines are quite a bit thicker.

To be honest, I've never compared side by side but I would guess thicker ID for a better flow rate.
