Mondeo 2.0L Zetec = 130bhp
Insurance = Group 9 if you use HIC
Brakes = optional but you really need them!
Rear discs = for look only, if no money then don't bother
Performance = should be slightly faster than a RS1800
Cost = 275.00GBP from MMOgenius, labour only

if a mondie engine is only 130bhp then why do so many ppl do it why not just buy a frst???isnt there a 2l engine with more power that u can fit in??for all the effort of changing engines id want more then 130bhp.

because with a fiesta turbo comes a little RS badge on the back spanking your insurance right up to group 15. ouch! where as by sticking a 2.0 Zetec in you'll be sitting in group9 with similar performance figures.
130brakes not bad youth...i'd happily take it rather than my 90brake on the old si. now where did i leave that spare £500?!

you also do not need a rear disk conversion to run a 2.0 in ur fiesta although it would be a little help if u uprated ur fronts.

The effort and money is much lower than getting a FRST... especially a reliable FRST.

mondeo 2.0 are 137bhp but have good torque.
basically with a chip and exhaust and induction kit you would have about 150bhp and big tourque which would throw a fiesta along brill,
theres no turbo lag either so it makes a good drivers car.
i have a 2.0 head for sale here http://www.escortbreakers.co.uk/mk5/engine.htm

wasn't there a mk5 escort rs2000 which had a 2.0 150bhp engine, would that still be a straight forwardish swap?
