I am seriously considering a 2 litre zetec into my mk 3 xr2i. I thibk it will bolt straight in. If i get all the wiring for the whole zetec will it be a case of simply sorting out the electrics. What sort of electrical work is needed.

Been o site and it's just what im after, but a little confused as to what actual engine is best to use. Type e or R. I see that the type E is easier to fit due to similar mounting positions but they used a fiesta which allready had a zetec lump. Whats the score with the xr2i conversion. What box do i use and what about the mountings.

If urs is a XR2i 16v, the series 2 Zetec 2.0 will bolt straight in. However, if it is an 8v 2i, u may have to redrill the chassis for it... Not sure though, depends if the 2i chassis is different to the 1.1 chassis in the engine bay... Mine had to be redrilled to get the engine to fit..
