2 litre zetec

Postby trustzetec16v on Wed Mar 24, 2004 3:08 pm

Does anyone have a solution to the problem of fitting the 2 litre MAF to the 1.6 hose? The diameter of the 1.6 MAF compared to the 2 litre MAF is smaller, so i cannot attach the rubber hose as the diameter is to small. Would a K & N kit (the bannana shaped plastic pipe coming from the TB to the MAF) off an RS1800 fit right on to the 2 litre MAF or not?

i know the rs1800 maf and 1.6 maff fit the same hoses. the 1.6 just has smaller hole in the centre but is exactly the same size unit.

hose

Do they have that in stock? So i'd just ask for a 50 cm length of hose, reduced from 3 inches to 2 inches?

Ive just got some reducers from burtons the other day.

What i'm doing is taking an ERST crossover pipe from the 2L throttle body via 76-60 reducer. From the crossover pipe to the MAF via a 60mm straight hump joiner. Then the k+n staight onto the MAF. Dont know if the MAF will work properly with the k+n so close but we'll see.

I think PhilSi has K&N pipe but i think ti only fits properly at one end. Perhaps easier to get somethign made up than fart around restricting the airflow though adaptors ?
Nothing to see here...

Oh please please let me know if you find an easy solution. I f***** around for ages looking for a hose to do the job. You need a reucing hose from a 75 bore at one end (MAF) to 65 at other end.

I never found a good solution and ended up going to a hose warehouse and used 2 hoses of different bore but that could be stuffed inside each other if you see what I mean.

I am still looking for a neat answer but what I have does work.

If you PM me i can send you a dig pic of what I did
