2 Ohm Speakers

Postby richard_p88 on Wed Sep 06, 2006 9:26 pm

I've been looking at component speakers recently and am considering a set of JBL's (13cm). However it seems apparent that their latest models all have 2 ohm drivers. I am planning to run these off my Kenwood headunit (4x30w RMS), but the 2 ohm thing has me worried they'll fry it's internal amp.

Should i steer clear of 2 ohm speakers when running from HU?

The previous model comps seem to be a safer bet as they are 4 ohm. I'd prefer a JBL set as this way all 4 speakers will match. The JBL coax's currently in my doors will be relegated to back shelf and my kenwood 10cm Dual cones ditched.
