2i engine holding back and cutting out?

Postby 2iKRIS on Wed Jun 14, 2006 8:22 pm

For a couple of weeks now my 2i seems like the engine is pulling back and twice now the revs have dropped to 0 and the engine cut out. After leaving it about 5 mins it fires up again.
I initially thought something was blocked so tried running some redex through but it dont seem to have made a difference.
Does anyone have any ideas of what to check for?
Its the 1.8 16v

Thanks

Sounds like what my Si engine was doing, turned out to be both a dodgey ISCV and MAF.
Those that can, do; and those that can't, talk about it.

Might be worth looking at the TPS as well. When these go pear shaped they can cause all sorts of problems
