2i Throttle body

Just an idea, but would a 2i throttle body fit my PTE (CVHish) 1.4 si??
If so how hard would it be to fit?
I know people are going to say 'no don't so it' [ERRR] the PTE is supposed to be high torque at low revs, thus not responding that well to breathing equipment, but I've got a Janspeed system and Ramair filter and it makes a well noticeable difference! I reckon if I got a cat replacement / si throttle body and ported & polished head (ohh err), and adjusted fueling it'd get to over 100bhp from the standard 75...
Anyone had any experience??

Torque not bhp is important, as is throttle response and smoothness of torque curve.
But I don't know enough about that so I'll chat about this instead - using a multimeter, measure the resistances of the two TB's throttle position sensors at closed and fully open for the answer to that one.

YOU COULD FIT THE 2i HROTTLE BODY GOOD IDEA
AL- They both would be identical - 0-0.7v TPS is just an indication of throttle position not flow capacity

Mark,
I was thinking along the lines of the ECU thinking the TB was further open than it actually was, or even reversed - you know how Ford love to make the little details incompatible
Yes, it will flow more air as long as everything lines up and if Mark says it does then... maybe it does

Takin a look at the Haynes last night, [ERRR] I've got major fuel line probs, (ie the fuel pump still don't work of its own accord - yes the same problem as I had about 6 months ago ;o) ) Still can't figure that out - the relays are both ok, there's a voltage coming out of the fuel pump one, but somehwere between heer and the inertia switch (passenger footwell) it doesn't work =o( I think its gotta be either immobiliser or ECU. Does the immobiliser (PATS) just stop the fuel pump circuit? Cummon Mark, you've take one out of the loom!!!
Anyways looking at the HM and it turns out I've got SEfi on my 1.4 si. They;re a right hybrid; basically a CVH engine with zetec injection system mated with custom inlet manifold / cam. Not much chance of a new cam then.......
So I don't reckon it'll work now, [ERRR] the 2i is efi and uses a MAP sensor and $hit, and mine ain't got one its got a mass airflow meter by the air box. Oh well, worth a try!
Mark / Al any ideas on the fueling prob??
Cheers

Rob its still the same throttle body tho mate!
Yes PATS cuts the fuel pump via the inertia switch wire

Mark, is that the ONLY place it immobilises the car??
or are there any other circuits it also breaks?
Cheers!

it cuts power feeds to quite a few things mate - just trace the wires back and it will become obvious

Its not the PATS then, [ERRR] everything else works.
By diduction then, I declare the ECU is fecked!
