2L Ecu question
ok i went out and sold my stupidly wide arch mk2 polo to go and buy a Mk3.5 fiesta Si (1.6) to do a 2L conversion in, but now i'm getting confused with what i need to start gatheriing for the conversion.
i've been told that if i get the mondeo 2L silver top then i need to use an RS1800 ECU
now i'm not mechanically challenged and all i do all day is modify cars (yes thats actually my job!) but surely common sense is to use the 2L Ecu or is there a reason behind using the RS1800 one?
i know what i need for the engine so to speak but any info on what sensors and wiring i need would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
Will

Re: 2L Ecu question
ive heard 2.0 zetecs can be run using rs1800 management and MAF, although i cant see it being as effective as using 2.0 management. im using a mondeo DEWY ecu, the DEWY,DESK and DEEP mondeo ecu's are the only ones i have heard of working properly with the 2.0 MAF sensor.

Re: 2L Ecu question
Do not use a RS1800 ecu. Not only is it common sense, as you said, to use the 2.0l ecu but it's also essential to get the fuelling and timing right.
