Well thats the problem i dont know where from. i mean above 5 grand slightly at 4 n half.. seems that the noise is making it slower... hard to describe the noise kinda as if the manifold is screaming? or a joint is blowing only under high load.. but im not sure that that would lose me so much power? still the noise is worrying i dont think the noise is engine related as the engine sounds sweet as....

i did think that however.. the gearbox is not reaching its max.. with my old engine it would do say 60 in 2nd, and now the whine starts before 50.. so i kinda ruled that one out? difficult this one! im really am stuck!

Aren't the 1600 cats too restrictive?
You will need the 1800 inlet and exhaust manifolds to get full power to the best of my knowledge.
If a garage carried out the work, take the car back to them and demand they sort it out asap!
A STAR test might reveal some faults.
Check the oil level in your gearbox. Also check your brakes aren't binding.
Also make sure you are have the 1800 Zetec injectors (engineering code 928F 9F593 B1C - I don't know where on the injector it will be stamped though) as the 1600 ones don't seem to flow enough fuel ...?
I'm still waiting for you to get me the engineering numbers off all the parts I asked you to in your other post

Ah, the whine will be the new cambelt. My Mondeo sounded dog awful for about 5K miles after it was changed.

on mine the manifolds matched up with the head, bore size wise... as the gaskets showed... i might of been lucky tho...
as for the injectors , ive heard the 1.4 zetec injectors flow enough for the 2.0 .. so not sure if the 1.6 ones would or not.. as all 1.6 stuff seams to be pants lol
also when i had the cat on for the MOT i can say it felt hardly different.. maybee with it on it had abit more torque but didnt rev as much.. but not so u'd be crying about it lol
I defo recomend a star test
