2Ltr Auto ECU EDIS4

Postby unknown_user on Sun Apr 04, 2004 11:55 am

Ok i have just ibought a 2ltr zetec from an Auto it has this EDIS module, But am i right in thinking if i get a normal ECU (i have one with DESK code) and plug that in and use my 1.6 Zetec Si loom i wont have to worry about using the Mondeo loom and EDIS module??

I think Paul Baker said this was possible but im not sure... Check your PM's Paul!

Thanks for your help!

You have PM m8 but for anyone else that has got a 2.0 from an Auto.

Use standard Si Loom and get your mits on a 2.0 Manual ECU (DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE AUTO ECU) DEEP is one that I know works well. JUst plug the ECU in place of the Si one and all will be well.

i used deep and it was crap. try before u buy. im stickin [ERRR] my 1.6 ecu (guru) as it has excellent throttle response and is rapid compared with wen i used 2.0 ecu.

They are zippy with the 1600 ECu but ultiamtely a lot slower. hey run much rougher too.

I ran mine with a Mondeo Si ECU, it has a sportier map with much more midrange. I have forgoten the code. It was something funny.

I'd be careful if i wer u m8. The 1.6 ecu will be underfuelling across a lot of the range. I run a DEEP and it runs perfectly and no-one can convince me that an ignition and fuelling map for a 1.6 engine is right for a 2l.

I'd suspect that you had a fault in the ecu you used you could well end up damaging your motor contnually running a 2l on a 1.6 ecu.

Yeah where it says BLIP. By the way BLIP is a 1.8 Zetec ECU

Mondeo 1.8 litre 16 Valve 93 on Ford EECIV 93BB12A650BC 5029657 XEF3BBBC
BLIP 7145618

For a 2.0 you need either DEEP, DEWY or DESK

Thing is they are Ford-only breakers and are usually on the nail. They'll prob swap it. At least now I know exactly what to look for. Cheers

By the way 16V_Si dont forget to put a Manual Crank Position Sensor on the block before you install the engine.
