2nd hand tyres - are they safe

Is it safe to use tyres fom one car on another car. I brought some 2nd hand alloys, with tyres on them, and wanna use the wheels on my car, but dont want 2 pay for new tyres if poss. Is this safe, or even legal?!

they r from an RS Turbo, goin on my standard mk3

I'd have the wheels and tyres professionally checked for warping and structure distortion. If they r ok in that department, if they have thread left in them and don't seem to be cracking up, I think u can get away with it. After all, they were doing their job in someone elses car until they were taken off.

Personally, I wouldn't buy a set of wheels b4 having them checked. I know you've bought yours already, but this could b of use to someone whos thinking about getting 2nd hand items.

yeh ive had most mine from the scrappy, u just need to chekc them over urself, some of the cars have brand new tyres before getting written off, its obvious which tyres will be [ERRR] good.
