2WD Cosworth brakes --> Fiesta

Why do people say this isn't doable? All the ERST boys use the 2WD Cosworth calipers after machining about 8mm off the cast mounting face on the calipers. They're 4 pots as opposed to the 4WD 2 pots, which has to be a good thing. Are the ST170 discs 4 pots, and do they pose the same fitting probs as the 4WD Cosworth setup (ie a few spacers and you're sorted)?

They are do-able, there just isn't much point:

- they are harder to fit than the 4wd
- they cost more
- they are trickier to get hold of
- the pedal feel is worse
- they don't clear the wheel as well

The biggest reason though is that they quite simply don't work as good.

ST170 are single pot sliding, like the 4x4 cos ones but with the bigger disc (300m vs 278mm). They are the ones to go for.

Ah right good stuff, thanks Ade. Just a case of spacers like the 4x4 brakes and you're away then? :D
