andymac :Okies, heres a thought then....

A 2.0 from a scrappy will cost about 350 quid I reckon.

i inquired a while ago about prices for zetec units (1.8 and 2.0L versions) at my local scrappy (ford and rover specialist). he'll sell em for 150-180 (running and garenteed not to be fukced) quid all day long

I have a 1.6 16V zetec Si, i have kent cams, i have induction kit and zorst. and it does f**k all. u cant do one thing with out the other. if u want it quick ud have to do the head the manifolds would need changing, then the valves, then chipping. so many people keeep! saying cams add 12bhp so where is it adding the 12bhp! all engines are gunna b different. its the same with this k&n s**t, they do fuk all some times make it worst they improve top end but i bet u if u all stuck ur standard ait boxs back on it would have more power low down which is [ERRR] u ant if u wanna ripp ur mates off lights etc, the k&N on the Si just sucks hot air outa the engine bay. also wheels bigger the wheels the less Torque ull have and more top end. basicly all i want from my car is Torque i dont care about top end and if any one has taken the time to read this could they plz tell me if u think id gain some Torque if i had the car chipped due to the fact the cars ecu will still trying to b running the cams as standard? so if u think having the car chipped would give me some more power low down let me know. and if u can think of any other mods that would help me up the low down power let me know...... cheers.....keith

Its true though, you look at the big cam co. sites and they say added 18bhp in our test...yeah maybe inconjunction with fully worked head, filter, and exhaust and compared to a knackered one first...If the Si is so untuneable, dont do anything to it other than add some nos so you can use it every day and when you are "in the mood" and someone tries it on, you make them look very silly! :D

Si would probly run better standard...... deff standard cams and air filter, then just chip that, K&N and cams only really gonna give u high top end, mine does have a good top end, but thats not what i want ! i just want a car that ripps to 60 .... do any of you have any ideals on that ?????

Fit a 4 speed 1.1 gearbox. Be quick to 60 but fuel consumption will be s**t and you wont do much over 70 without revving the nutsack off it.
