37K Ford Fiesta
Re: 37K Ford Fiesta
am i missing a bolt and fixing here on the tank?
been at the Fes today again , Dropped the exhaust off its rubber mounts and removed all the heat sheilds to allow myself more room for getting to metal to clean up , rather than going round then and doing them at a later date .........
Funny looking picture is the heat sheild clips soaking in vingar , clean them up a bit also

Love the progress mate, and love the car!
Wish I could paint my arches and underneath my car with Hammerite, but at the moment I'm using it so much to get around, and where I'm parked at my house, can't really do much work when parked in a public car park. Shame, mint car getting wrecked by the general public.
Keep it up!

Re: 37K Ford Fiesta
I know how you feel mate , used to live on a narrow street a little like corination street all in a row both sides with on street parking lol , one way to describe it
used to get on my neves so much , never could do any repairs that i needed when i had the escort , or store any cars or work on any thing ,always had to go to the girlfriends mums , which then they got a bit annoyed as i was always wanting to use their drive lol
but now , front drive way for two cars , rear concrete garden with double gates to get cars in and out , not been happier in our new home

Re: 37K Ford Fiesta
Exactly the same with my street mate. Same description! Corrie Street!
It's terrible though, a line of cars on the left down a narrow road, plus I have a space in a public car park. People can't park properly, bash my door, dents, dings, etc. SHOCKING! I have to go to my Dads or my mates to work on the car. Shame!
But you seem comfortable, congrats!

There are still genuine wings about, they are a bit more money, but tend to go right on without any problems.
You don't even need a welder for the front wings, bonding them on is absolutely fine.

Re: 37K Ford Fiesta
really not heard of them being bonded on before , ive heard of them bolted on , isnt there the law with MOTS that a part must be fitted as the manufacture intended it to be?

Re: 37K Ford Fiesta
naaah, most cars these days have plastic wings mate that are bonded on, you can use tiger seal or any good industrial bodywork glue to join them at the seams, theyre bolted on at the door shut i believe

All slow but sure progress ,

Good progress. I would leave the arches to a professional - it's a nice shell to practice on
