4-Pot all-round conversion?

Postby CarismaDave on Sun Oct 13, 2002 5:10 pm

Does anyone know of anyone that sells 'em? I've heard rumours of Hi-Spec doing them...but their website was/is down. Know how much? Cast/Billet and disc size?

Otherwise it'll be 4-pots on the front and RS2000 on the back which I'd rather not do for all the hassle the back will cause me. I know Sunny's got 4's front and back but they're casts I think. Any help would be appreciated :D

Thanks Snake, I'll give them a wide berth then! BTW it would be highly fraudulent for them to use your credit card number....in fact it's even deception to obtain it I believe when they obviously know they cannot fulfill your order;)

I take it no-one has any other ideas then apart from the RS2000 option? Surely there must be a way? I'd ask Sunny but I'm not sure that he did it himself.

Dave;)

Craig, lol I was thinking more than that! As I'm sure you can tell I don't tend to scrimp on my car so £1k would be cheap for what I had in mind!

I just wondered whether..rather than do the v v expensive option that I'd like to do (*secret*) that someone possibly had already come up with the idea of making a full 4-pot set for front and back. You wouldn't need a different master cylinder as far as I know, although stronger lines such as earls may be an idea.....Sunny's doesn't have one and it stopped pretty damn quick for my liking (**losing sphincter at the time I believe**) so in my mind that would be an uneeded expense.

Thanks for the note about the Puma stuff but a) don't like Alcon's aesthetically (personally that is!) and I want bigger discs than that b) I'd have to get Puma beam etc etc which would cost me more time/hassle than what I had in mind anyway;) I know where Sunny got his done and that's a bit out of my way to be honest!

Dave;)

Snake,

If you can get hold of Hi-Spec on the blower and really want their stuff, I can always pop in there as they are not far from me, that's if you can get them to commit to a date.
I've also had problems where I have ordered something and said I'll be in the next day for it. Turned up the next day and they didn't know anything about it. :x
However, their reaction is a little different if you are standing there waiting.

don't go to Hi-Spec directly, lol,
I bought my kit through Mike R.
Delivered as promised (or one or two weeks out, dunno anymore, was last year)

Heard nothing but bad comments about hi-spec's service,
but if you use a dealer it's not that bad.
I kinda think they don't like to deal with customers themselves.

Needed new bolts for my bells and mike sorted them out too, through Hi-Spec (free of course as it was a prodcution fault)

Hmmm, 4-pots all round....sounds like a bit of a waste of time to me...you'll only lock it up quicker. Fitting ABS would be a safer option! Besides, the rear brakes on a Fiesta do bugger all....

a useful gain can be had by milling out the rear bias valves slightly and running rear discs, as i want to stick to 15" wheels i'm limited to 285mm at the front. Rear is rs2000 but braking is much improved, drums overheat and boil fluid discs wont (especially with a milder grade of pad)
