Get a KnN replacement filter,
Cone filters can let dirty air into your engine which is not good.
The fiesta engine recirculates the air so a dump valve is really pointless they do more harm than good IMO, Youve got a FRST isnt that enough to turn heads?? :D
If you want a bit of noise buy a S/S exhaust ;)

you need to drill 4 or 5 wholes in the bottom! dont ask me for details as never done it but its get more air into the box allowing the filter to do its stuff :D

2nd attemp of reading it i understand :) when i bought my car i was told that you shouldnt really put a dump valve on a FRST, i cant even remember why but it was an RS centre who told me this :-?

A lot of people say that dump valves are bad, but if i had a turbo id love 1. The noise is great but sadly it sort of doesnt do the engines any good.

See now thats the thing, I have heard you help the engine by not giving the turbine blades so much stress !!!

Sooooooooooooo many different stories !!

the things i know about dump valves are....

sometimes they chuck sh!t all over ur engine bay

sometimes they let sh!t into your engine (cos if they stay open when theres no gasses coming out gasses go in..(with no filter)) however some have some system to make sure that they close.

they sound nice (some ppl associate the sound with idiot boy racers)

u can get just as kewl sound without dump valve (some ppl DONT associate the sound with idiot boy racers)

feel free to disagree i know u all will

Its just basically another noise which sounds nice, any1 tried a re-circulating dump valve. Im not sure if they are standard on frst's. Just an idea :D

Ok.....some wild stories going on here.........

Fezzy Turbo's guide to Dump valves :-

All a d/v does is release any back pressure from hitting the turbo blades, either into the engine bay or re-curculating it into the airbox. Either type could be fitted to a FRST, depends if you want to hear a noise or not.

You will loose some instant acceleration, that is due to all the air being released and the turbo needs to re-fill the charge carrier and I/C. But it is un-likely you will loose power.......except if the d/v leaks. As there should be a good seal as the boost pressure keeps the d/v closed...........so DO NOT take off the vacumn pipe as your d/v will NOT work

A d/v is not really needed on a std FRST, but i would recommend one on a FRST running higher boost.

You should use a double piston type or a d/v with a filter as this will stop any nasties entering your engine.

any more questions ? :)
