Can't give any opinions on the components but I have Infinity Kappa 6x9s on an MDF shelf and sound sweet as! If I turn the bass off them they can go louder than my poor ears can cope and still be clear :D

to be honest id go for the most expensive and best components in the front that you can afford possibley a 3 way component set, a set of good coaxials in the back for rear fill (if you wish), keep your subs, and get it all set up correctley, oh and a decent head unit ie Alpine :)

oh yeh fudgekin scrap all the 6x9's :)

Bahaha who in their right mind would spend £150 on 6&9's

Right comps definately, it really depends on what kind of music quality you like...Rainbow comps; http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product ... ts_id=3851 are world renowned for their sharp crystal clear sound reproduction, but many find them too sharp,
TBH your better off having a search around http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/ and ask about what they recommend with your budget
