A few questions about IB5

Postby Fez on Mon Aug 25, 2003 5:40 pm

Are there any structural differences between IB5 'boxes from different cars (eg. 1.25 and 1.6 Fiesta) apart from different ratios?

How can I identify an IB5 gearbox? I saw a box at a breaker but it was a bit dark so I didn't see much. Only a Ford logo and "1.25". They said it was from a -96 Fiesta 1.25.

I have heard an IB5 from a Zetec-S would be benficial to my 1.3 HCS CFi - some more information on this would be useful.

As well as answering previous post :)

Thanks

The trouble with boxes for Fords after 1996 (apart from escorts) is that that the clutches are hydraulicly controlled instead of a clutch cable that pre '96 fiesta's have.
