remember it would only cost £350 for someone in the know, with the skills to do it themselves and with an rs1800 already.

for you to get it all done to a 1.1 i'd say at LEAST in the region of £500 for parts alone.

tom sx is right
will cost u about 200 just for a good 2l

i know its cos lou (kingfisher) well over 1k all in! cos with 1.1 u have to change EVERYTHING!
i recon if u were a really good bargin hunter and a top mechanic u could do it for 500-600
if u want it done by someone else......BUY A NEW CAR!
personally i think it would be a bad idea to get a 2l zetec unless u know what ya doing with it (thats just a personal opinion) because its not an engine designed for the car ull want to be sure ur recognice the very early singsof things going wrong

best option if u have absolute mint fez and a very good job..... 2l zetec
best option if u can afford higher insurance and want bigger......different fez ...rs tubby, rs 1800

I would agree that for the money it's not worth doing, as to do properly you need to look at the suspension and brakes as well as the engine, engine management, fuel and exhaust systems.

However that's not saying it can't be done! It would be easier to do if you started off with a car running EFi.

Stephen

my car wasa 1.1

i cant remember what is original

recently i have had to change

to a FRST Steering rack lower arms hubs and driveshafts at a cost of about £400

FRST rear beam with bigger drums and ARB

i had to put suspension on as my 1.1 shox died in a matter of days

I payed £700 for my engine and bits

i reckon the car owes me a good £5000-£6000 thats just getting it running

only now am i starting to tune it.

Your body modifications can be done to another car ure wheels ice can be transferred !

dont do an engine conversion hassel is not worht it !
