i dont know if this has ever been posted but here we go has anyone done this conversion and whats involved and is it a worthwhile conversion?

so do peeps reckon its worthwhile gettin rid of it? is there a lot involved u reckon? its not linked in with the ecu by any chance or is that getting ahead of fords time lol

No, your better taking it off. Its rubbish in the wet, snow and any other condition. The cost of replacement parts from Ford is rediculous.

As Fezzy says it's a crap design and even working properly is poor in operation. I binned it from my S2 and will be binning it from my Fiesta as well. There is no benefit to this mechanical ABS system at all.

naa lockin all four wheels up is fun sumtiomes, expesh when u see the face of the daft bint i the mirrior of the car in front that jus pulled out on you onto a 60mph road when you are 50m away

i had a quick scan over at the braking system today and it looks quite an involved job. dont get me wrong i could prob do it seeing as how ive stripped my car out completly. prob make it esier seeing as how there is no engine and gearbox in he way lol.

If you have it in that many bits already find an XR2i at the knackers yard you can rob the whole brake pipe setup from and transfer it in it's entirety to your car

was going to say its an easy modification, mine stayed in place untill i changed my gearbox then removed it, but i was disconnected about 10 mins after i owned the car and chopped the belt, fortunately at std ride hieght i didn't have to worry about the load adjuster etc on the rear beam
