ABS

Postby dannyboy on Sun Aug 10, 2003 9:43 am

Just a quick question, i've heard that braking can be improved by removing the ABS. At the mo I have 300mm front brakes and am getting focus rear disks, larger master cylinder and servo etc.

What are the pros and cons of doing this?

I heard the ABS on Fiesta's is some kind of weird mechanical version that is cack, so yeah. You are probably better off without it :)

You are miles better off without the FRST ABS as it's completely useless. I found that with the ABS the car would skip down the road when it kicked in and didn't realy help with steering as you have to correct this skipping  Having removed it I've found that you can brake past the point where the ABS used to cut in without locking the wheels.

Regards,
Stephen

PS Anyone want to buy my old ABS modules?
