ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!! UPDATE ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE. see last pg
just been woken up by the neighbour, my cars half way down the road after some little thieving f*** tried to nick it. They've rolled it off the drive, then tried to bump it backwards, but as it doesnt run at the minute had no joy and decided to plough it into a micra instead. Im gutted now, as i dont think ill be able to afford to insure it anymore. They've bent my door back, and rammed something into the ignition, but earlier today i took the battery off to charge it. so running or not they probably wouldnt of got far anyway. im a bit annoyed at myself aswell as i was going to put the battery back on earlier this evening, but had to go out, and had i done that, maybe the alarm wouldve gone off (toad ai606) i would love to get my hands on the little t***s as i and a few friends have put a lot of time and effort into it welding it up and trying to make it look half decent. and ive just been out and got a rotten fe turbo to put everything over into my xr2i aswell to make a rs rep. does anyone think they will write it off? as similar happened to my dads astra a good few years ago and they wrote that off straight away.
Anyway thats my rant over. sorry, but had to get it out of my system.
will see what the damage is tomorrow when i ring the insurance company.

yeah will be taking a few friends. he wont know whats going on. The worst thing is mate, i have a german shepherd, and hes a big f***er. always sit in the bedroom window and watches. but the one night he decides to sleep by the draughty door downstairs they nick my car, granted when he heard the bang, he shot straight up the stairs, but they were long gone by the time i had chance to get out.

Re: ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!!
alright mate. got in touch with them and theyre suposedly sending a salvager out to collect the car tomorrow.....yet they wont give me a quote or a value for my car. so unfortunatly im not going to let them take it untill i/they give me an idea of how much im going to get. i cant buy it back unless i go to auction for it aswell apparently. They dont seem bothered at all to be honest. and when your paying silly money for fully comprehensive cover. then its just pathetic. i wish id never bothered sometimes.

yeah deffinatly wont be going with admiral again. Have decided not to claim on my own car, just let the lady whos car it hit claim. ill break the 2i if its beyond repair. as i've decided to take everything off the shell and try to sort the rust aswell. i guess its just a case of paying exstortionate(sp?) insurance prices for a few years now though

Re: ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!!
got any pics of the car?
sorry to hear this mate, there are some right pricks about, and insurance compnaies are not much better.
good call for not letting them take it, you would never of seen it again and they would of offered you peanuts for it.
as your fully comp and a claims being made against ya anyway, insist on it being repaired, im pretty sure you have the right to demand it be fixed rather than written off, but you will need to find that out though for sure

Re: ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!!
they will say no due to the cost, its cheaper to give you a few hundred quid than pay £1k+ for repairs and a hire car, but read the policy, you might be within your rights to demand its fixed.
if you kick up enough, they might up there offer to shut you up, and thats when (if its not a bad offer) you say your take it if you get to keep the car.
also, you can go round other garages getting your own prices for repair to put to them
but im sure you have the right to demand its repaired.

yeah they left my cd player in it. they'll get whats coming to them, as a few people saw them run off, and reconised them as the street is very well lit.
Jay- insurance just arent bothered about it to be honest mate, theyre just in it for a job and dont look at fiestas or any other older car like these as we do i guess. just another scrapper off the roads for them.

Re: ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!!
they dont care what car it is, there always go the cheapest way out of it, most people will accept the first offer right away, other will fight it untill they get a higher offer which prob wont be much but there be told thats it and no more so they accept, but the more you fight the further you can get, depends what the cars worth though, i.e you cant throw your weight around on a rusty banger thats clearly worth the same amount as it does to take it for a year, but when you get something thats worth something then you can start insisting on s**t, and you can get far, depends how much your willing to fight for it, and how much your insurance company will take before they start pointing at small print to shoot you down

gonna try and get a half decent shell and just go from there, ive got the frst engine, loom, running gear etc so just gotta wait to get paid. just gonna rent a garage when its finished and buy a steering wheel boss so that it can be removed. should be a bit less appealing then i hope.

Re: ABSOLUTLEY FUMING!! UPDATE ADVICE NEEDED PLEASE. see last pg
Well ive been to see the lady whos car mine rolled into and she has told me my insurance are refusing to pay for her car to be fixed, as there was no driver involved. ive had no contact from them about this, and so will be ringing them tomorrow or tuesday. i've told they lady i only told my insurance to pay out for the 3rd party involved(her) so that it didnt cost as much and they said that would be fine. so now i should be claim free again right? as i dint claim on my car, and she hasnt on hers?!?! i've told the lady whos car it was, that i would like to pay for the damage to her car, as i do genuinly feel guilty about it, and shes decided that we'll go halfs. plus its at her in-laws body shop so will cost us both about 50 quid ish.
Will i keep my 1yrs no claims now? and get another next year? and things seem to be going my way too. as know who did it now and hes getting a visit next week
Any help you lot could give would be great, and very much appreciated. thanks, Dan

if yuo or a 3rd party hasnt claimed on your insurance then they havent paid anything out, so you are still able to have your NBC, they can only hold it if you make a claim, or theres one pending, if they fcuk you about, speck to office of fair trading about it
