i have tried this on 3 computers now and the front forum index page is not updating still showing last post as 08:00 when ther has been loads since then

Look at the post times.

The clock on the server must be wrong.

Just mailed the isp and asked.

The clock has obviously been changed. If you look at the 'woohoo smilies' post it shows 8 replies, last post mmogenius at 8:40, yet peeps have replied since.

ilovebristols post time is 4am or something, and all the consecutive replies are afterwards but not before 8:40, so until the server clock passes 8:40 it thinks mmo's reply is the newest and doesn't update the main page or forum listings.
