Adjusting Tappets

Postby cheby on Tue Feb 01, 2005 2:21 pm

Hello,

Right I know I'm going to sound really stupid now when I say all this, BIG LEARNING CURVE.

I'm trying to adjust my tappets on my car because they are very noisy. I have taken the airbox off, disconnected the ht leads and removed the spark plugs and removed rocker cover off. I'm now stuck. I know its all infront of me and im half way there but I'm having trouble setting the 1st piston to its 'Top Dead Centre (TDC)'. I can't figure out how to turn the crankshaft manually and its location, HELP!!!

Cheers

Yeah I have been consulting the Haynes manual. I figured it out first look today. Managed to get them adjusted. I think I have done them correctly. Well I've followed the book and they are quieter and no smoke.
