im not asking for people to start saying 5 doors are best, or 3 doors are best. im asking aside from the obvious being able to access the rear seats easier are they any advantages or disadvantages of having a 5 door fiesta. such as does the fact its got 5 doors mean that the rigidity of the chassis is compromised? enough so that its noticeable when driving? does this make them less than suitable for track use? do all parts that fit 3 doors fit 5 doors aswell, such as rollcages? this is just a general enquiry so any info is welcome

Its probably down to the age of the car but the MK5 is certainly easier to get access to the rear end of the car - more windows = more sound can escape it feels slightly heavier than the MK3 but not too much, and haven't had any rigidity problems thus far....

Advantage of a 5 door over a 3 door.

On a 3 door your rear quarter can be dented in, which is a pain in the arse to properly replace.

On a 5 door, all you'd do was change the door.


Disadvantage of a 5 door

You can break in even easier.

i loved my 5dr si but i'd have a 3dr every time. i've never noticed the need for the extra 2 doors. i've now got a little un and i drive a scort mk6 cabby and its easier to get the car seat in & out of that than in the missus' mum's mondeo!and to be honest if you have to chaffeur old folks about etc a fiesta's crap for that because of their size anyway!so as far as fiesta's go, 3 door every time!

i think 3 doors look atlot nicer with most vehicles
but the 5 door means u dont have to keep gettin out to let people in

my mk 3 5 door isnt very rigid any ways so i dont know how much difference there is

ive owned my 5 door for around 10yrs now but i would have preferred a 3 door purely for the looks

but ive got used to mine over the years and dont really notice the extra doors.

i think at the end of day theres not a lot between them just personal taste

It has been done before, can't remember who it was but he posted up a link of the inside of the car and it look well nice, not as nice as my leather of course.
