again another 1.6 8v conversion set of questions

Postby 2309andy on Fri Nov 11, 2005 1:48 am

right firstly have searched but couldnt find everything revevant to what i needed to know. so here goes.

i have a 1.4cvh si and wish to transplant to an xr2i 1.6 8v lump.
what is the total list of parts i need to do this?

*read in another post somebody needed tank, fuel pump, fuel lines etc but their car was not aa cvh fiesta, do i still need these components to make mine work?

* i smy gearbox going to be of any use to me for this conversion of do i need another one? if i do need another one what do you suggest, i swear i read somewhere that poeple used 1.8 diesel boxes in some conversions?

* do i need different engine mounts to fit this cvh which ultimately is identical to my existing engine bar being bigger at the bottom end.

* am i right im assuming that xr2is did not have a cat? if not how would i get around this problem. would my cvh manifold be of any use and my cat back system? if not i can send it off to longlife again to have it extended to meet a 2i manifold but how would i get around the m.o.t problem?

* so what exactly do i need then

*engine itself
*ecu

what else guys?

cheers for your help
