ive got a question about the airfilter

my current air filter is under the battery and near the gearbox.
(check pic the red sign)

is it better performance wise to put it in front of the battery? the blue sign ?

probably in front of the battery should get more cold air

i think that

in front of battery: gets less air but cold

where it is : gets more air but probably hotter :S

unless it a 200 hp multi turboed diesel and your just fooling me i wouldnt worry about it, may as well stick the original box back on it

so it will not make any difference, its approx 150bhp

LOL you must be joking, does it even have a turbo, i cant see one?,a re you aware that diesels naturally have a lower bhp output that petrols of the same size

its a 1.8 my mothers 2008 2.0l turbo diesel Vw engine only has 110 bhp

and these 1.8's are slugs, theyre even slower than my 1.3 HCS lol

if it is standard, a air filter change wont do diddly s**t

yes it does have a turbo and its a t2.7 (as i was told but not sure about that)


with bosh fuel pump+plungers, boosted at 25psi

i raced against a vw golf 19tdi (with minor modifications, he said that its 119bhp) i passed him with about 3 cars in a quarter of a mile

in that case put the turbo just tot he left of the battery with a piece of piping to serve as a cold air feed, you can buy them in halfords its silver and expands
