hey just brought a FRST with an alarm, the last owner hasent got the certificate for the alarm so could i get one from the alarm people so i can add it on me insurance?????

Yeah take it to an approved dealer of whatever the alarm make is and they will test it etc and if it is a cat 1 then they will give you a new certificate

i have a similar issue, however i dont know what make/type the alarm is. How can i find out what it is? I have a central locking unit with a remote fob.

You wont get a discount without proof of installation and supply from a CAT1 certified alarm fitter. So personally I wouldnt bother paying to have someone inspect it.
