or

Mondeo calliper with what discs? the '93-01 mondeo discs are 260mm

They both seem nice cheap options, although I would have thought the mondeo option would be better with it being a newer car and all.

Well I'm going to be arranging a courier to collect some ERST calipers from Steve (Scort) which he's very kindly offered to me.

In his PM to me (hope he doesn't mind me posting it!):

Standard ERST S2 brakes are pretty good by all accounts mate. The same front braking setup was used by the Sierra XR4i, and the XR4x4, which both had fairly good brakes. The actual calipers are the same as the RS2000 setup AFAIK. I thought the carriers were different though. I've had a few sets of each over the years, but never even thought to compare them, ho hum!

Let me know if they bolt straight on though, would be quite interesting.

Obviously Jonezy has done this setup, so I'm giving it a go I can only assume that the combination of the offset of the mountings on the hub carrier and the offset of discs (i.e. the XR3i 130PS/RS2000 ones) allow it to work? I guess I shall find out soon

Touch wood it will work out perfectly. Jonzey's already done it so im sure it will work for you too! If it does i'll be looking at doing the same thing! I'm just concerned about finding erst calipers! I'd rather have them new!

I've been looking at this kit, willwood midilite 4 pots, (same as heeman I think).

Just using 260mm dics instead. The calipers need an inside wheel diameter of 328mm so I don't know if they'll fit under the standard 14inch turbo alloys. I'll check this weekend unless anyone knows off hand.

i took mine abart and boil blasted em with soem sh it hot power wash and burnt any crap off em inc most of the rust. repalced all the seals (dont try and get em from anywere - i just knew someone who had em new in the bag)
greased em up and put em back together, i am quite concered about some juddering i seem to be having when braking hard from 60+ - not hard but noticable through the steering wheel and the disks are deffo not warped

also can someone plz dispell the MYTH of the mk5/6 escort master cylinder and servo to give your brakes more bite

which specific escort cylinder do you use and is it a straight swap between the two.

wanna no as ma pedal is anoyinly sloppy and ive bled it as much as my superhuman strength will allow
