What a load of s.h.i.t. Xr_Dub is running 280bhp stop dissing other people's build's just because your self opinionatedOranoco :To be honest I'd stick with the 1600. The 1900's rarely seem deliver what they promise from experience.

kyle make shore you get a real tall block not a bored out 1.6!!
as said above the 1.6 if built properly is considered a better engine but the 1.9 for the money i think is very very good!
all depends what you going to run it on, mfi, efi, dizzy , coil pack etc????
what turbo size, t3 hybrid t3, t34!!!!
get a box that can cope!
rest of it is fairly simple, there is a 1900 tall block on ebay and i know a guy that has one sat in a garage

thanks, thats just a rough guide to what my bhp is though,
after talking to Ian Howell, Mark at Grove, and Ahmed it should be around 260bhp Defo and they are the best of the Best.
and looking at my terminal speeds 109 mph it backs that up
will be going to P.E to check the power and More Important to me the Torque Figures.
Alot of people cuss S.E and 1.9 block's i just laugh yeh mines really crap
Oranoco i have alot of respect for you as your older than me and more expereinced in owing more fords etc etc.. but sometimes theres not a certain way or right way of doing things?
theres loads of 1.9 cvh, zvhs that are good, quick, and powerfull but do they get a mention, nooooo.... just becuase you get a few miss guided people specing an engine without any clear thought or disscusion with the tuners,They think... simple... chip it and rag it..... which leads in to melt down and then the blame game starts.
engine
I think theres loads of ways of doing things 1.6,1.9, 2.0, 2.1
Cvh,Zvh,Zetec Turbo ,Zetec
wheels
16s 15s 17s
7 width 8 width 9 width cough....lol
Body
standard
euro
Stealth
etc etc etc
im trying to say is, theres loads of options out there that people have done and have made work!! yet people are still anti this anti that just because they know a certain way and like sticking to it yeh maybee it works.
But Some people like being different and doing different things thats have worked aswell and sometimes have improved on things..
i think it be boring if we all did the same thing and nothing would improve or go forward. We wouldnt learn or explore ideas and then expand on things..
Less of dissing and more expanding on ideas and concepts..

Looks like im going to upset everyone lol but i agree.
Im not saying they cant deliver, but they rarely do.
1.6 Will rev better than a 1.9 unless you want to chuck money at it.
The only 1.9 i have any experiance of delivering the goods is Ollie's @ NMS
And even the lads at NMS will tell you to go 1.6

Wind your neck in fella I didn't say they couldn't deliver the goods just that they rarely do. XR_Dubs car has been done very well and and he has seeked advise from people that know these engines and his does seem to produce the goods as the terminal ¼ speeds show (I feel these give a better indication to a cars power than just the time). In no way was I "dissing" somebody elses build .
And I use my car on track as I want to explore its potential to the full in the right environment. It's not everybodies cup of tea but it's no skin off my nose.
Now go and take your grumpy pills

Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
