Amp Wiring (6x9s and Sub)
Hi all,
Trying to wire up my amp and havea bit of a problem. Its a 4 channel legacy amp. I am trying to wire 6x9s and a sub to it (should be possible)
The thing is when I did it I either got all bass (i.e. 6x9s were just playing bass low frequencies and sub obviously playing bass) or 6x9s were playing as normal and the sub was playing bass but also tried to play the song as well (high frequencies).
Now this should work shouldn't it: 6x9s running off channels one and two. Sub bridged on top of them.
Or Two channels on the 6x9s and sub on its own.
Why can't I get it to work properly i.e. everything playing the frequencies they should!!
The guy that owned the car before me had it as above (6x9s on two channels and sub bridged).
anyone have any ideas. I will post a pic as to how it is wired currently and so people can see what terminals I have on the amp.
Another option is to get another amp to run the 6x9s on their own but can't afford it atm.
Would rather throw the 6x9s away altogether and get components all round but again cannot afford. Would rather just get everything running right now so any ideas please???

run channels one and two on the 6x9's and then bridge channels 3 and 4 on the sub. by the sounds of things you are running everything off the same channels

Re: Amp Wiring (6x9s and Sub)
thanks mate.
I have however realized the problem. I have 2 RCAs going from the headunit to the amp and therefore 2 channels are functioning. I have now got the 6x9s on two channels with the sub bridged over them with full crossover. Not ideal but it works.
My headunit I noticed has a separate RCA output for a subwoofer so will get another RCA lead and run that to my amp and run the 6x9s on channels 1 and 2 and have the sub on its own on channel 3 or 4
