Another Dutch RS1800 rebuild, update 22-03-11

Postby Razer on Tue Feb 22, 2011 10:23 pm

After 2 years owning a RS1800 i have decided to rebuild my own one
Image old fiesta

Later when it's finsihd i wan't a 2.1 zetec turbo engine in it, so lot's to do

Because the old chassis wasn't salvageable anymore i scrapped that one and bought a xr2i 1.6 for the shell

To bad that the new shell was also a bit of pain in the ass

Image

Let's start with the holes ( other side exactly the same )

Some pictures from the bodyshop/ painter

I wanted a normal ford color, i had 2 choices: Imperial blue ( fiesta sport ) or pacifica blue from the XR2i
After some good thinking i went for the pacifica blue color, because every one does the imperial blue.

Because a fiesta isn't the most quietest car in the world, i want to improve that.
I bought 15 rolls of rhinomat for isolation

Image

Cleaning up

Image

Image

And the whole floor is wrapped :D

Image

And trying to finnish the car, also put the rhinomat in the trunk, doors, and rear wings

Bought a custom doorwirring from a fiesta mk3.5 , and fitted mooooore wires in it.. resulting in 1 empty pin :P
