Any 1 got a piper cam? + turbo advice please
Has anyone on hear got a piper cam or had trouble with them? the reason i ask is cos i jus had one in my car 2 weeks ago with a chip, vernier pulley and intercooler and run it in for a week and the car started misfiring/burbling like a scooby does so took it back down mikeanics and he says the cams and followers are f*cked already!
He asked if it had been run low on oil etc and made it out to be my fault which i cant see in the time its been in the car, he said he was sending it back to piper to see if they'll give me a replacement? i cant really c how they can say no can any body else????
cheers
sav
ps when i start my car it smokes dead bad, worst its ever been at the mo, like a heavy white smoke pouring out, if i leave thecar to warm up it did used to stop but now smoking nearlly all the time! ive had the valve stem oil seals done so is this gonna be the turbo seals?

Sounds to me like the cam wasn't bed-in correctly.
You need to hold the engine at 3000 rpm for the first 15 minutes after start up so that the metal work hardens. If it's left to fall below 2.5k/3k rpm in the first 15 mins the cam will be scrap in a matter of miles.
Piper will know what happened and won't cover it. To be fair it's the mechanics fault, he should have bed it in and if he didn't, he should have told you to!
White smoke points to the headgasket, is the oil OK and same goes for the coolant?
