Re: any1 fitted 2.0 in 2 a mk5 fiesta
Hi I'm back just racing Puma speed and they told me i cannot fit a 2.0 mondeo engine into a Mk4 fiesta as there is no room to fit it. So how the hell do they get a duratec engine into a Mk5 as there doesn't seen all to much difference in the size of the engine bay and the duratec compared to the mk4 and 2.0 mondeo.
any help?
any help?

it all depends mate, the zetec will mate to the original box, you will need to cut away wherever it fouls, and weld in new material to re-strengthen it. New engine mounts will need to be fabricated, then you have to wory bout fuel pump, exhaust, cooling, wiring.
and thats just a quick run down of the major parts, problems can arise and stretch everythng out.

so its not a matter of just using the parts from the mondeo and mixing them up with the parts from the fiests and hey presto. can you just swap the mondeo loom for the fiesta loom and use the pumps and such from the mondeo?
Maybe better to get a puma right off rear end shunt

no you cant just mix and match, custom parts will be needed, alot can be salvaged from the mondeo, but TBH think this conversion is beyond your money mate

Pumaspeed are talking rubbish, you can fit the 2.0 litre zetec engine into a mk4 and 5 engine bay. It has been done many times, it can fit under the bonnet of a KA aswell. There are a few FRS engined zetec-s and KA's about, it is all custom fabrication regarding the mounts etc. Check over on http://www.zsoc.com and ask, there are a few cars running these engines with turbo's etc, they might still have the measurements for the mounts etc.

To put the frst engine in a zs costs a huge sum of money, and this guy doesnt have 6k to get it converted, but tbh i think paying that amount of money to have it done is crazy, as its only 1 mount that needs making up.
