The dog was easier than Google, I just looked at the website the picture was from.
This one I knew because it used to be mentioned in almost every advert break on Channel 4.

Used to get it really badly all the time (same as you not linked to food/activity or anything) when I had overactive thyroid, now that's been fixed, don't get it any more
There's a few conditions that can make you have it I think, and it can lead to bad problems with your oesophagus (sp), my dad has some horrible syndrome caused by it, so I would go see your GP if I were you.

Re: Anyone suffer with....
To be honest, ive not been or felt well for a long while, currently in the process of changing my doctor.
Past 5 years or so, i have odd weeks, where ill get the shakes/dizziness/blurred vision/confusion and then just want to sleep all day, common cause or blame, lack of food, but i get it sometimes before food, and sometimes after i eat, im also a generally very tired/lethargic person, sometimes the slightest bit of effort sends me into a dizzy spell. yet ive have all the blood tests and what not for anemia, diabetes, thyroid function, full blood count, you name it, and im 100% healthy according to my doctor, was advised to change my diet, which didn't help either, this stomach acid problem has wore off the past few days, but i think i went through about 15 packs of rennie during that fortnight... only stuff that seemed to work, another thing is i dont put on weight, or hold weight, im a decent size for my age/height,but like i used to do weight training, hard, and eat like a horse for months, to put on half a stone if that and i wasnt exactly big i was just toned, but as soon as i stopped going due to loosing my job, what id gained in those 8 months just fell off me in a matter of weeks...
Strange..

The thyroid controls your metabolism so weight loss can be a sign of an over active one and the other things you mention tie in too.
http://hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html ... yroid.html
Might be worth mentioning that to the doctor and getting them to retest for it, although it's a lot less common in men than it is in women.
As Kat says, you need to find a way to deal with the reflux. If it's causing inflammation of your oesophagus and it's left untreated it can start to cause scarring which leads to further complications. That's detailed in the first link I posted.
Have a read through this too - http://www.ei-resource.org/articles/rel ... glycemia?/ - it's quite common but not detectable by testing, only by association of symptoms and checking your blood at that time. Your description of dizziness, shakes, etc, is very familiar. It's essentially the opposite of diabetes. Might be what's causing it.

Re: Anyone suffer with....
I was going to say you sound exactly like hyperthyroid but then that hypoglycemia thing sounds like the same symptoms.
I'm hypothyroid now after radioiodene treatment so I have to take thyroxine everyday which sucks but I do feel better lol.
