Anyone up North got an XR2?
Out of interest for possible summer fun...has anyone up North (I'm in Cumbria for summer) got an XR2? Must run with no problems, small cosmetics will pass, as will have intention of track/hillclimb use, but as close to mint as possible Nothing over £1,00...just seeing what people have.

Im thinkin of sellin mine after its MOT in august.
Its D reg, 76K miles, lovely bodywork for its age, ashley exhaust and manifold, green stuff brakes, nice inside too, re-sprayed bodykit that looks very nice, clear fronts and smoked rears.
I was gonna put it up for £500 with 12 months MOT

Hi Norton,
Am I right in remembering from a conference I went to at the age of 10 that St. Helens is near Barrow?! lol It's about 10 years ago, so I could be wrong Have you got some pictures you could send me? Any work been done anywhere on the car other than the kit being sprayed? Would like to see some pictures, and is there any/much history with it? Mods? Any engine work etc...how many owners? Any rust?
Thanks,
James.

st helens is near liverpool
its had no engine work done, cept for zorst and manifold
ive got receipts for bearing, ball joints, exhaust and manifold.
mods are just what i emntioned in first post, light clusters, clear indies.
Hardly any rust, few little spots on passanger door and little spot on boot behind number plater.
This pic was before i sprayed the bodykit and added the smoked rears and front clear indies
As i said tho, the MOT runs out in august, but i cant think of anythin it will fail on.

Is there a service history with it? And I don't suppose it's been RR'd at any point? Just wondered what they put out with an Ashley system as opposed to the 95bhp standard figure. I'm only just entering into the XR2 world, so need to get as much info about them as possible, in as short a time as possible! Tuning possibilities, problem areas etc, but as you're not TOOOOO far away, I'll have you ear-marked once I've found out what I need to know and begin the hunt

it has no service history im afraid.
but ive took good care of it, and i know the owner before me did too, it was keps in a garage, so that explains why the body is so good.
I havent had it RR'd, say its 96hp standard, with the zorst and manifold im guessin it would be around 100bhp.
My plans where to get a high lift cam and get the head ported and polished, then stick some twin 40's on it, then id be lookin at around 130bhp, but ive decided i need a change as ive only ever owned mk2 festers.
There is a knocking noise comin from the drivers side, not sure where exactly its comin from but ive had all the suspension checked and they found nothin wrong. It comes and goes, and im baffled about what it is. Doesnt cause any problem tho.
