Avo Coilovers

Postby DorsetZS on Sun Sep 07, 2003 2:48 pm

Looking to upgrade the suspension, at the moment it is lowered 40mm on Pi springs and is good but get sum bumper rub on the front wheel, so want sumthing harder. So ideally coilovers, I know these are cheaper than H&R, so wont be as good, but what are they like ? Heard someone say lasted only a year ! Any experiences or advice for me ? Would like H&R but they are a lot of money, what about any other Shocks and Springs that are adjustable, like Koni or Spax ?

And do coilovers come setup at all out of the box, or do they need completely setting up, height and dampning, just wondering if a normal garage can fit them or sumwhere with different tools ?

Got AVO coilovers on my cos and i rate them, but they are a bit harsh for road use!
These things go rock solid,i turned the rears to just over half way and it was way to stiff.
Ideal for track use though (which i'll be using them for).

You have to set the ride height and damping up yourself, which took me ages to get the best results, but well worth it.
