, its not mate, just make sure the metal is clean, and use the flux other wise its not gunna stick.
could use silver solder if you dont wanna use braze, again, use the flux, or get flux rods (silver solder roads are expensive though)

Re: AW3K's 2.0L XR2i, rust restoration
well sounds like you got all the bits mate.
turrets can be done of several ways, plating over is a quick easy fix, but long term its not the best.
you could peel away the top layer of steel and if the main turret metal hasnt rotted, you could clean it up and make a new bit to replace the top skin you removed.
if the main turret metal has gone, you could cut out the rot and repair it, or cut the whole top of the turret out and replace it.
i repaired a turret on clarks cars, i removed the whole top section of it as the main turret metal had gone, and i replaced it with a rot free one from a scrap car.
have a look on clarks thread for his rs, as pictures who what i done

should go to page 59, if not, thats where i started on the turret, well the jig for it, then the turret comes after on the following pages

Re: AW3K's 2.0L XR2i, rust restoration
nice find with them rear quarters
believe it or not but you can still get the mk3.5 N/S rear quarter from ford if you can wait for it to come from abroad for the time being
The O/S rear is no longer availible
The N/S mk3 rear quarter is also no longer availible
