You do have to use whatever you can find at the scrappy to get what you want

TBH i would have steered clear aswell, if its was pressurised and blew, it definately wouldnt have been nice, brown trouser experiance would ensue

it wouldnt be charred, Co2 doesnt burn
it really depends on the pressure the cylnder is at and the distance from it, but your right metal shards would be occupying parts of your anatomy

the chance of it being full are slim, but even if it was thats nothing to worry about, i know it has a car sat on it, but it would need a hell of a lot more than a fiest to crush that down even a tiny bit.
hand it been sat on the valve then i would of fcuked off fairly quick....
